Cadillac has officially revealed the new three-row XT6 crossover on the North American market. It’s set to compete with some of its main rivals in the mid-size luxury SUV segments such as the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Lincoln Aviator, Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60. However, the 2020 Cadillac XT6 has a price tag that is much more expensive than its closest competitors and is scheduled to reach U.S. showrooms in the next few months.
Under its hood, the upcoming 2020 Cadillac XT6 is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission which is capable of producing peak output up to 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. This new three-row crossover is only offered in two trim level options that include Premium Luxury and Sport.
The Detroit-based car manufacturer has recently announced official pricing details for the upcoming XT6 crossover. The 2020 Cadillac XT6 will hit U.S. dealerships with a price tag of $53,690 for the entry-level Premium Luxury models with a standard front-wheel-drive configuration. This is obviously $8400 more expensive than the Infiniti QX60 and Acura MDX, of course comparing with the same powertrain, similar specifications and sizes. Unfortunately, the new XT6 SUV is not equipped with standard safety equipment like its competitors, including forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and other active-safety tech features.
Customers who want an all-wheel drive configuration on the 2020 Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury must pay extra costs of $2000. There are a variety of optional packages on the AWD Premium Luxury trim, including the Driver Assist package with many additional safety features but it costs an extra $1,300 and a Platinum package (an extra costs of $4900). There’s also an Enhanced Visibility and Technology package that can be obtained by paying an extra costs of $2350. The latter will add several safety equipment such as 360-degree camera system, head-up display, and digital gauge cluster.
Furthermore, there’s the 2020 Cadillac XT6 Sport which will go on sale with a starting price of $58,090. Cadillac only offers Sport trim with an all-wheel drive configuration (without front-wheel drive options) but it has been equipped with more advanced torque-vectoring AWD system and quicker steering ratio. Visually, the new XT6 Sport gets a darker accent touch on its exterior design, and the interior featuring carbon-fiber-look trim. While the packages choice is more or less similar to the Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury.
Talking about release date, the 2020 Cadillac XT6 luxury SUV will land on the U.S. dealer floors in the next few months, possibly around the end of this year.
